who is dr. artik

Mihail Neychev a.k.a. Dr. Artik is a Bulgarian DJ-producer and entertainer. He has been on the music stage, business and industry as a DJ & producer for more than 15 years.

Dr. Artik has played music at big raves and parties, and in many luxury discos, bars, hotels, lounges, pools, clubs, yachts, private events & etc. in his home country Bulgaria and around the globe.

He has permanent gigs in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Spain, Greece, Morocco, UAE, UK and many other countries, so far he has performed in over 17 countries on two continents.

Dr. Artik is a multi format DJ. His music style ranges from dark minimal techno through deep house, tech house and the famous nu disco genre, to mainstream POP mash-ups and Russian pop remixes, trying to always be in line with the latest trends in the world of music & DJ scene.

Studio X

Studio X is the name of the recording studio where Dr. Artik works on his own music projects. The studio is located in the small bulgarian town of Dimitrovgrad and is а part of the activities of Nationonal Community Center “Vasil Levski 2003”, Dimitrovgrad.

The styles I think I know well and work with for the last few years are:  Deep house, tech house,  nu disco, pop remixes,  dance mashups Russian pop music, as well as some of the seasons’ club mainstream  hits.  The best way to get an idea of what I work with is by listening to some of the sets in the DJ mixes section of this page.

In the last 15 years I have worked in many different types of places. The DJ services I offer have been equally well received in all of them. In my DJ portfolio I have venues like:

  • lobbies, pools and bars of 4, 5 and 6 star hotels;
  • swimming pools;
  • pre-bars; cocktail bars;
  • pubs;
  • small and large clubs;
  • beach bars & restaurants;
  • ships, boats and yachts;
  • small and large disco clubs and discos;
  • small and large open-air festivals;

I have experience with conducting:

  • private parties – birthdays, baptisms, weddings, home parties, etc.
  • corporate events – company gatherings, cocktails, presentations, showroom atmosphere, team building, etc.
  • club events – fashion shows, themed parties

and many others.

There are many things that should be considered for the cost of hiring a professional DJ.  Some of the most important among them are:

  • Working hours
  • Overtime
  • Type of event
  • Transport (plane tickets, etc.)
  • Hotel and other accommodations.

In general, the DJ setup is the equipment the DJ uses in their booth: players, turntables, mixers, controllers, effectors, drum machines, synthesizers, microphones, etc.

The sound systems include the amplifiers, processors that distribute the audio signal towards the amplifiers, the speakers, bass speakers and many others.


When hired, I have everything I need to do my job in the DJ booth. Аs a digital DJ, on all venues I work with my own:

  • Macbook Pro;
  • DJ Console;
  • Few MIDI controllers;
  • Headphones;
  • Wi-fI Microphone (if need);
  • Cables, stands, cases and etc…


Most of the places I’ve had the pleasure to work, are equipped with their own sound and lighting equipment.

If necessary and on customer request I use the the services of companies that are engaged in professional stage lighting, sound, special effects and pyrotechnics.

I avoid using a mic while I work.

My 15+ years professional career as a DJ (Disk Jockey) taught me that using a mic prevents me from concentrating on my set and mix.

Yes, there are DJs using a mic but I am not one of of them. If the mic is a requirement, I use the professional services of experienced MCs. I can provide contacts on request.

It depends on the requests. If a request is in line with the music style I know and work with and if I feel it will cheer the audience then why not? However, I avoid repeating tracks in my sets.

It is also important to know that requests to download and play something, play a track from youtube, a phone, a USB, etc. will be ignored. Needless to say, such requests are very disrespectful and absurd.

No. Regardless of the financial motivation I do not accept work proposals that do not allow time for proper planning and preparation.

You are planning a private party, gathering, corporate event or you own or manage a bar/club and you want to hire a quality DJ.

You are looking for a DJ for a long term job, or for a single event.

You have a clear idea what type of DJ you need and know how much you can spend on the service.

You did your homework – you listened to my tracks, you checked with friends who have seen me at work, you know what type of music I do and you want me to work for you.


You can get in touch via the contacts provided below. Make sure you allow at least 5 days before the date you need the service – this way we have ample time to discuss and come to an agreement.

You can pay via a bank transfer, PayPal, Revolut or cash.

Your event will be added to my calendar upon receipt of a deposit. The deposit is 50% of the price we agreed on. It needs to be received at least 2 days before the event.

The deposit guarantees that I will be working for you only on the agreed date, and I will not accept other work proposals.

The deposit is non-refundable: you will not get your money back if you change your plans or cancel the event.

The remaining 50% will be paid immediately after the work is done.

An invoice can be issued upon full payment.

I will contact you a day before the event to discuss the final details.

On the day of the event I will be at the venue 2 to 4 hours before it starts, dependent on what equipment you want me to carry with me.

I will install and turn on all the sound and light systems. I will perform a full sound check before the guests start arriving, and will make sure everything is in order and that there will be no unpleasant surprises during the event.

I will meet your team of organizers/promoters. We will go through the requirements for the event one last time. If promoters are available, I will provide them with specifics, which can help with the event promotion.
